A Nice Hotel, as with many city Hotels it looks a bit dated, but it did not spoil the stay. It could not be closer to Queen St Railway Station or Bucchanan St Subway station.
The sounds of the trains running underneath the Hotel

City center location and reasonable rates for bed and breakfast. Friendly staff and clean room although room needs some refurbishment
Bar prices way to high, hence I only had one drink over a four night period where normally I would have had a couple each night once I was back in the hotel

Great central location, handy for shops, theatre, cinema and restaurants and good value for money.
My twin room was very noisy both from the underground trains rumbling away underneath and from the neighbouring room which had a locked but not sound-proofed adjoining door.

The staff were friendly and helpful, it' s very handy for rail station and other transport and is a central location for getting about Glasgow.
A little noisy at night, but being centre of a city, it's to be expected.

Excellent value for money, go location and fantastic breakfast. All the staff that I encountered were both friendly and courteous
The only point I would make would be that the maids were using the lift to transport clean bedding, towels and cleaning materials in the morning, rendering the lift unusable for paying guests, but not a major problem as I don't think they have a service lift!

Location was excellent for train, cafes, bars & shopping. One young staff member on reception was very helpful
Subway & main streets are noisy so ask for room away from them. Stayed 3 nights. Had one sleepless night when neightbouring room partied all night - little response from staff when I complained. Breakfast was just ok. No safe in oom and it appears that in Scotland you need one as we unfortunately found out out.

The main plus points of this hotel have to be its its reasonable prices and its central location - in a pedestrianised shopping street next to Queen Street Rail and Underground station and within 5 mins walk of tthe Coach Station. The reception desk staff were very helpful, even offering to check on the internet if my flight was affected by the ash cloud. Breakfast was ok although the freshness of the bread at the weekend was a bit questionable !
The decor in the upstairs corridors and the bedrooms was very worn and tatty, and looked like it had not been touched in 20 years (except by the guests. However, I suspect that some of this may be due to damage caused by the sort of clientel that is attracted to a City Centre hotel offering rooms at £35 per night ! Inside the room, the tv remote control did not work properly and the plumbing left a lot to be desired. However it was clean and well equipped (albeit with "vintage" furniture) which was the main thing.
